Terms of Use

Kadenz · Last updated: 23 August 2026

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Kadenz is an app by Henri Irmscher — Appentwicklung, Seckbacher Landstr. 66, 60389 Frankfurt am Main, Germany ("we"). These terms cover the use of the app and the associated render service. By using Kadenz you accept them.

2. What Kadenz does

You pick clips from your bike ride, optionally add a GPX file of your route, choose a template and receive a finished, edited video. The app itself renders nothing. It sends your selection to our render service and gets the finished video back.

3. Minimum age

Kadenz is for ages 16 and up. If you are younger, you may not use the app.

If you are between 16 and 18, you need a parent's or guardian's consent before taking out a paid subscription. Without that consent, please do not subscribe.

4. No account, no sign-up

Kadenz needs no login. Your device receives an anonymous ID on first launch. That ID links your videos to your device. Securing your device is up to you. Anyone using your unlocked device can also see your videos in Kadenz.

5. Your content stays yours

Your clips, your photos and your routes belong to you. You only grant us the right to store and process them as far as necessary to create your video and make it available to you. That right ends as soon as you delete the data.

We do not use your content for advertising, do not train AI models on it and do not pass it to third parties.

6. What you are responsible for

By uploading, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to the material. Prohibited in particular:

In case of violations we may remove the affected content and block access to the service.

7. Music

Kadenz works in two modes:

We never ship a protected original master. If you add protected music to your video yourself, that is your responsibility.

8. What costs what

Kadenz is partly paid. What you get without a subscription:

What requires a subscription:

A subscription includes up to 10 videos per week. The allowance tops itself up continuously instead of resetting on a fixed day.

Free trial

You can try Kadenz Pro before your first purchase. How long depends on the plan you pick: 3 days on the weekly plan, 7 days on the monthly and yearly plans. The app shows you the exact length before you pay.

After that the trial turns into a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel first. You can cancel anytime in the store, including during the trial.

The trial is granted by the store, not by us: it is available once per store account and only for a new subscription. Once you have used it, you will not get it again on a different plan.

Prices, term and cancellation

You see current prices and terms in the app before you buy. They are shown in your currency because they come directly from the App Store or Google Play.

Your contract for the purchase is with the respective store, not with us. Purchase, billing, renewal and any refund run entirely through Apple or Google and are governed by their terms. All we learn from them is that a valid subscription exists.

A subscription renews automatically for the booked term unless you cancel. You cancel directly in the store:

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Until then you keep full access. Your statutory consumer rights towards the store, including any right of withdrawal, remain unaffected and are governed by the store's terms.

If we introduce new paid features or change the scope of the subscription, we show this in the app beforehand. You then decide whether to continue.

9. You always get your data

Regardless of any subscription, you can tap Export my data at any time in Settings under Data. You immediately receive a ZIP file with everything we have stored about you and a download link for each of your videos. This is free and possible up to five times a day.

The links are valid for 7 days. If they expire, just request a new export. Anyone who wants to share a video conveniently, save it to their gallery or download it right away still needs a subscription.

10. Availability

We do our best to keep the service running but owe no particular level of availability. Maintenance, outages or changes to the app can mean nothing can be rendered for a while. We may develop the service further, change features or discontinue them.

If we shut the service down entirely, we give reasonable notice inside the app so you can save your videos first. The export in section 9 is available to you for that in any case, subscription or not.

Still, always keep important videos in your gallery as well. Kadenz is not an archive and not a backup service.

11. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, as well as for damage arising from injury to life, body or health. The same applies under the German Product Liability Act.

For simple negligence we are liable only where a duty is breached whose fulfilment makes proper performance possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely (cardinal obligation). In that case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.

Any further liability is excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using Kadenz at any time. Export your data first if you want to keep it, then delete all data in the app and uninstall it. The Delete data page explains how.

A running subscription is cancelled separately in the store, see section 8. Deleting your data does not end a subscription.

We may block your use if you violate section 6.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when the app or the legal situation changes. We inform you inside the app and ask for your acceptance again before you can render further. If you do not accept, you can still export and delete your data.

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
