Delete your account and data

First things first Kadenz has no user account in the usual sense. There is no sign-up, no email address and no password. On first launch your device simply receives a random, anonymous ID. You delete that ID and everything attached to it directly in the app, in under a minute, without asking us.

First: do you want to keep your videos?

Deletion is permanent. If you still need your videos or your data, export them first. That is free, with or without a subscription:

Tap the slider button in the top right.
Scroll to Data.
Tap Export my data.
Save the ZIP file wherever you like.
Open the ZIP file, click downloads.html and download your videos.

The ZIP contains a JSON file with everything we have stored about you, plus a download link for each of your videos and for any clip not yet processed.

Download the files before you delete. The links point at our storage. Once you have deleted, the files are gone and the links lead nowhere. The ZIP alone does not save your videos.

Option 1: delete in the app (recommended)

Open Kadenz.
Tap the slider button in the top right (the three lines with dots).
Scroll to Data.
Tap Delete all data.
Confirm with Delete everything.

The slider button sits in the top right on every screen — you do not have to navigate anywhere for it.

To remove just one video, tap it in the library and choose Delete there.

What gets deleted

Data	What happens
All finished videos (MP4)	Removed from storage immediately and permanently
Clips not yet processed	Removed immediately as well
All database records about your videos	Deleted, including title, template, length and timestamps
All render jobs	Deleted, including started and abandoned ones
Your subscription record with us	Deleted, along with the subscription service's messages about your ID
Your customer record at RevenueCat	Deleted at our subscription provider too. Your purchase at Apple or Google is untouched by this, and an active subscription does not end — you cancel that in the store.
Your events at PostHog	Your person and every analytics event belonging to it are deleted at our analytics provider, not just disconnected on the device
Your anonymous ID	Deleted itself. Afterwards there is nobody left for anything to be attached to, and the app starts as if freshly installed.

Deletion is permanent. There is no bin and no recovery. Videos you previously exported to your gallery or to TikTok of course stay there. You have to delete those yourself.

Your subscription keeps running A running subscription is attached to your Apple or Google account, not to our ID. Deleting your data does not cancel it and does not refund it. You cancel in the store: on iPhone under Settings, your name, Subscriptions. On Android in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions. If you reinstall Kadenz later, Restore purchases brings your subscription back.

What does not get deleted

Technical server logs with IP address and error codes. They contain no content and are deleted automatically after 30 days. We keep them only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
Purchase receipts at Apple or Google. Those sit with them, not with us, and follow their retention rules.

Option 2: request deletion by email

If you have already uninstalled the app, or cannot delete it yourself for another reason, write to us:

We handle requests within one month. An honest note: because we deliberately do not know who you are, there is no name and no email address we could use to find your data. Without the anonymous ID all we can confirm is that deleting the app from your device breaks the link.

Where to find your anonymous ID

Tap the slider button in the top right; the ID sits at the very top under Your account. Tap Copy next to it and send it to yourself, or press and hold the text and copy it by hand.

If you do nothing at all

Nothing sits around forever either way. Jobs you start but never finish are cleared within 7 days at the latest. Anonymous IDs with no videos are deleted after 12 months without use.

If you simply uninstall Kadenz, the anonymous ID disappears from your device. Videos you already rendered still sit in private storage, though neither you nor we could link them to anyone any more. So: first tap Delete all data in the app, then uninstall.
